wait for the relief

{So verily, with the hardship, there is relief}
~Surah Ash-Sharh, 94:5

Shaikh Ibn al-‘Uthaymeen:

“This statement is news from who? From Allaah عز وجل. And His news is the truest news and His Promise is never broken. So every time things become difficult for you, wait for the relief. Every time things become difficult for you, wait for the relief.”

the Causer is Allaah

Imaam Nawawee’s 40, Hadeeth no. 19

Shaikh Al-‘Uthaymeen comments:

“If Allaah helps you through someone, it is not allowed for you to forget the Causer (One who creates the results) – and that is Allaah.”

“If a person seeks help in Allaah and puts his trust in Him, Allaah will suffice him and he won’t need anyone else after Allaah.”

“The benefit that comes to a person from the Creation is actually from Allaah because He is the One who wrote it for him, and this is an encouragement for us to depend on Allaah and know that the (whole) ummah cannot bring us any good except by Allaah’s permission.”

“Every time things get distressful, then indeed relief is near, because Allaah says in His Book: {Is He (not better than your gods) who responds to the distressed one when he calls upon Him and removes the evil…?}.”

“Relief from/removal of distress is connected to distress (itself), so every time something distresses a person, Allaah relieves him.”

“If a hardship befalls a person, let him wait for ease. And Allaah has mentioned that in the Noble Qur.aan, saying: {So indeed with hardship there is ease. Indeed with hardship there is ease}. So if things get difficult for you, take refuge in Allaah, waiting for His ease and believing in His promise.”

know that relief accompanies distress

“Know that relief accompanies distress”
~Imaam Nawawee’s 40, no. 19

Shaikh ‘Abdul-Muhsin al-‘Abbaad:

“Meaning: if a hardship comes about and one takes refuge in Allaah, then the hardship will be followed by relief from Allaah”

the one who despairs of Allaah’s Mercy is astray

“He (Ibraaheem) said: And who despairs of the Mercy of his Lord except those who are astray?”
~Surah al-Hijr, 15:56

Shaikh al-‘Uthaymeen comments:

“Despairing of Allaah’s Mercy is not allowed because it is having ill thoughts about Allaah, and that is from two aspects:

First: it is discrediting His Ability, as whoever knows that Allaah is Able to do everything will not think anything to be unlikely for Him to be Able to do. Second: it is discrediting His Mercy, as whoever knows that Allaah is Raheem will not think it to be unlikely for Him to have mercy on him. This is why the one who despairs of Allaah’s Mercy is astray.

If a person falls into distress, he should not think that his wish coming true or his distress being removed is unlikely. And how many people were there who fell into distress and thought there was no escape from it then Allaah saved them, either due to a previous good deed – like what happened to Yunus (‘alayhissalaam), Allaah said: {Had he not been of those who glorify[1] Allaah, He would have indeed remained inside its (the fish’s) belly until the Day of Resurrection} – or due to a future deed.  And like the supplication of Allaah’s Messenger ﷺ on the day of Badr and night of the Ahzaab, and likewise the companions of the Cave.”
